Weekends from April 26 to May 11, celebrate cherry blossom season and all the spring blooms at Brooklyn Botanic Garden with casual, pop-up music and dance performances, morning programming for kids and families in the Discovery Garden, and Garden tours.
All programs free with Garden admission. See all weekends. 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Learn and play together in the Discovery Garden. Hands-on stations throughout the garden’s courtyard, meadow, woodland, and marsh encourage families to explore nature alongside our volunteer Discovery Docents and teen garden apprentices.
12–1 p.m. Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is the process of deeply experiencing nature by taking it in slowly and thoughtfully through all the senses. Join this nature walk to relax, calm your mind, and deepen your self-reflection. Meet at the fountain in the Osborne Garden. 12–2 p.m. Learn how gardening can be accessible through four interactive stations. Led by Kristie Cabrera, a disabled access worker and occupational therapist, this program invites participants to consider creative solutions to access barriers and offers an opportunity to try out different adaptive gardening tools.
1, 2 & 3 p.m. Don’t miss this dynamic youth ensemble that combines music, dance, and precision to inspire and entertain.
1–2 p.m. Discover BBG’s plants and gardens in peak bloom and other highlights of the season in this free walk led by trained Garden Guides. Meet on Magnolia Plaza by building steps. Major Supporter, Discovery ProgramsActivities
