Hands-on stations throughout the garden’s meadow, woodland, and marsh habitats encourage families to explore nature alongside volunteer docents. 10:45–11:45 a.m. Enjoy garden-inspired stories read by BBG volunteers on the Discovery Garden’s Woodland boardwalk. Drop in anytime to join—we welcome readers (and pre-readers) of all ages! 11 a.m. –12 p.m. Vibe under blooming trees alongside Something Positive as they lead Afro-Caribbean dance incorporating a unique blend of poetry, storytelling, theater, and music. Presented in partnership with I AM caribBEING 12–12:30 p.m. Dance and stroll alongside this nine-piece, all-female brass band whose sound is inspired by the music of New Orleans mixed with the flair of modern pop. 1–2 p.m. Celebrate Brooklyn’s West Indian community with an energetic steelpan performance by Hearts of Steel. Presented in partnership with I AM caribBEING 1–2 p.m. Discover BBG’s plants and gardens in peak bloom and other highlights of the season on this tour led by a Garden Guide. Meet on Magnolia Plaza by building steps. 2:30–3:30 p.m. Enjoy a performance by Brownstone Jazz Ensemble featuring Eric Lemons (bass), Silvano Monasterios (pianist), and Ali Bello (violinist). Presented in partnership with Brownstone Jazz 3–4 p.m. The Redhawk Dancers share traditional music, song, and stories of Native American Nations across North and South America.
