Reception for Jean-Michel Othoniel: The Flowers of Hypnosis

Drawing inspiration from three hand-selected areas of the Garden, renowned French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel presents six new large-scale sculptures that pay homage to the magical and multisensorial connection between nature, art, and the viewer. These dazzling works, crafted in gold leaf and stainless steel, are currently on view for a limited time at BBG—through October 22.

In addition to being the artist’s largest show stateside since his 2012 retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum, The Flowers of Hypnosis marks the third and final installment of DIOR’s Cultural Gardens initiative, following site-specific commissions at the Petit Palais in Paris and the Seoul Museum of Art.
