Explore the history of chocolate from its origins in the Amazon to its rise and spread throughout the world as a delicious delicacy. Learn how cacao is grown, processed, and manufactured and the nutritional components of cacao and their effects on human health. Sample a variety of unique single-origin chocolates in an edible lab session and visit BBG’s Conservatory to learn about cacao from the perspective of a botanist.
