Created by composer Ricardo Romaneiro with Metropolis Ensemble for Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s conservatories, Biophony SoundGarden is an audiovisual tapestry and light installation running in sync with plant-generated soundscapes. Explore each of the pavilions to discover a unique soundscape performed by live musicians. Together and separately, these performances tap into our breath and brain frequencies to create a connected and unified experience.
Biophony at BBG is a four-year-long series of performances; previous events took place in fall of 2021 & spring of 2022; the next will occur in the summer of 2024.
Co-commissioned by BBG and Metropolis Ensemble. Free with Garden admission. Visit the Biophony: Soundgarden site to learn more about the day’s events and participating artists. Art in the Garden is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.Support
