Bobbi Angell

Bobbi Angell has been illustrating floras and monographs since 1978. While most of her work is done from herbarium specimens and pickled material, tropical field work and extensive gardening at her home in Vermont contribute to her intricate depictions of plants. Her pen and ink illustrations have been published in Flowering Plants of the Neotropics; Vascular Plants of Central French Guiana; Vines of Puerto Rico, and Intermountain Flora. In addition to her scientific work, Bobbi drew plants for the New York Times for many years, and illustrated Our Life in Gardens. She was the 2006 recipient of Jill Smythies Award from the Linnean Society of London and ASBA Award for Excellence in the Service of Science.
