Lightscape - Night Lilies

Night Lilies

Created by Ian Marlow
Lily Pool Terrace

Consider these hand-forged sculptures a seasonal stand-in for the tropical flowers you’d typically find dancing across the waters of Lily Pool Terrace during spring and summer. These larger-than-life blossoms are inspired by night-blooming water-lilies, which flower at dusk and remain open until early morning.

Working in stainless steel, glass, and bronze, UK-based sculptor Ian Marlow takes natural forms and presents them to us in new ways. There is something magical in the way he transforms a hard, bright, almost industrial material into structures that are organic and alive—capturing the fluidity of movement in the natural world that surrounds us.
