It's official. Now that the garland has been cut (a mere ribbon wouldn't be very fitting for a botanic garden after all), BBG's beautiful new Visitor Center is open to the public. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, along with city and Garden officials and students from Brooklyn Academy of Science and the Environment, did the honors this morning using pruning shears in lieu of scissors.
