What will be for sale?
Every kind of plant, both for indoors and outdoors: Annuals, perennials, small trees and shrubs, roses, herbs, vegetables, all kinds of tomatoes, houseplants, orchids, hanging baskets…and more. All our plants are the best quality at the best price, including unusually choice specimens and many rare varieties, all handpicked and selected. Native plants are also featured.
Will you have XXXXXX? (a specific plant)?
YES! We will have that or something very similar. Come to the sale—you’ll be sure to find something you want. The BBG Plant Sale has a huge selection, largest on the East Coast, and better than a catalog because what you see is what you get.
Are all your plants grown at BBG?
All our plants are specially grown for the sale by selected growers, most of them local.
Will there be lots of plants to choose from on Wednesday and Thursday?
YES! There will be thousands of first-rate plants, and there will also be free special events on Wednesday throughout the day, including lectures and demonstrations by BBG curators and free workshops by BBG’s GreenBridge.
How do I pay for my plants? Can I use a credit or debit card?
You can pay with cash, check, or with all major credit and debit cards.
Where is the best place to load my plants into a car?
On Flatbush Avenue, at the special Plant Sale gate located near the south end of the Plant Sale tent and the Cranford Rose Garden (across from Prospect Park Zoo entrance).
Plants left for pickup: How can I get my plants home?
There is a free checkroom at the south end of the tent. Plants can be left overnight and picked up there until noon on Thursday. After that, plants can be picked up at 1000 Washington Avenue on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (See Security officer at desk.)
How can I attend the Members’ Preview Sale?
If you’re not already a member, you can join the Garden that day for $50 ($45 for seniors) and attend the Members’ Preview Sale. (Spread the word to neighbors and friends—tell them to come and join BBG!)
