Stroll through the Cranford Rose Garden's unparalleled collection of nearly 1,400 different kinds of roses, and enjoy afternoon tours. Relax in the grass with an afternoon of innovative jazz, klezmer, and world music, featuring an all-star lineup of world-renowned musicians.

Rose Garden Tour With BBG Rosarian Anne O'Neill

Brooklyn Botanic Garden's renowned rose curator for six years, Anne O'Neill, has been a professional gardener for over two decades. Originally from Ireland, she started her career gardening in Ireland's famed Altamont Garden.

Concert: Hasidic New Wave with Yakar Rhythms

Combining ancient and avant-garde sounds, the premiere Jewish Jazz ensemble Hasidic New Wave, and the renowned nine-piece Senegalese Sabar drum ensemble, Yakar Rhythms, forge a new musical synthesis that is both electrifying to listen to, and riveting to watch. Hasidic New Wave features saxophonist Greg Wall, trumpeter Frank London, guitarist David "Fuze" Fiuczynski, bassist Fima Ephron, and drummer Aaron Alexander. Yakar Rhythms features Alioune Faye, Ousmane Sall, and Abdulaye Diop.

Concert: Marilyn Lerner

Exhilarating jazz pianist Marilyn Lerner performs to international acclaim, from her native Montreal to Havana, from Jerusalem to Amsterdam and the Ukraine. Lerner's work spans the worlds of jazz, creative improvisation, klezmer, and 20th century classical music. She composes for film, theater, radio, and television.

Concert: The Gino Sitson 4

Gino Sitson descends from a long line of Central African musicians known as Ntontas, or "players of horns," and his four-octave vocal range is legendary. The Gino Sitson 4 features the virtuosic vocal stylings and body percussion of the Cameroonian native along with esteemed musicians Helio Alves on piano, Brad Jones on double bass, and Willard Dyson on drums and vocals.

Concert: Frank London's Klezmer Brass All-Stars with Maracatu New York

Winner of a 2006 Grammy Award for his groundbreaking work with the legendary ensemble The Klezmatics, New York music icon and bandleader Frank London struts his trumpet to center stage for a breathtaking set of original klezmer jazz. London will be joined by Maracatu New York, the metro area's first and only Maracatu ensemble dedicated to the performance of traditional drumming from the northeast of Brazil. Frank London's Klezmer Brass All-Stars includes Susan Sandler on trumpet and vocals, Mark Hamilton on trombone, David Harris on trombone and baritone horn, Curtis Hasselbring on trombone, Merlin Shepard on clarinet, Mark Rubin on contrabass helicon, and Aaron Alexander on percussion. Maracatu New York features band leader and percussionist Scott Kettner and singer/dancer Liliana Araujo from Frotaleza, Brazil.
