Hybridized by Guy Nearing, 'Mary Fleming' has won several Rhododendron of the Year awards from the American Rhododendron Society. The campanulate, wavy-edged flowers are a lovely creamy yellow with pink blushes and come two or three to the bud. A lepidote (small foliage) Rhododendron, this hybrid's leaves are 2 inches long and turn from dark green to warm bronze in winter. Hardy to –15°F, the compact 'Mary Fleming' is a perfect year-round plant.
