Native to Mexico, Anthurium clarinervium is cultivated for its beautifully patterned, velvet-textured foliage. The 6-inch-long, heart-shaped blue-green leaves feature an intricate network of elliptic greenish-white veins. Small inflorescences are borne atop tall reddish-green stalks and consist of a chartreuse petallike spathe and a violet-tinged green flower column (spadix). Grow the plant in moist, humus-rich soil and partial shade, and a minimum temperature of 60°F.
