Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program Summer Instructor
Description: The Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program (BCAP) is an innovative traveling summer camp program serving urban youth ages 7–12 which is sponsored by the Heart of Brooklyn's six cultural institutions, including BBG. A Seasonal BCAP Instructor is needed to assist with the implementation of BBG's section of this traveling camp program. The BCAP instructor develops and teaches plant-based lessons for visiting groups of children in two week cycles around the theme "Transformations". The instructor supervises and mentors two teen apprentices assigned to help with program preparation and implementation.
This position is focused on developing future leaders in the field of environmental education and museum studies.
Number of Positions Available: 1
Duration: 11 weeks, June to August
Hours: Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Compensation: $10.00/hour.
Qualifications: Completion of college classes with commitment to hands-on education, plants, and the environment. Preferences will be given to applicants that have experience working with children in a museum or nature-center setting.
