Brooklyn, NY—June 23, 2008—New York City's spiciest autumn event returns to Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG), celebrating the chile pepper with a smokin' lineup of performances and workshops for the whole family to enjoy! On Sunday, September 28, 2008, from noon to 6 p.m., visit the Garden for the zestiest festival of the season. It's like a big Brooklyn block party fired up with "chile-head" attitude! Only BBG could host such a diverse homage to the chile pepper with sizzling musical and dance performances, spicy culinary demonstrations, tantalizing exhibits, and workshops from chile-loving regions around the world. This year, the Sauce Boss brings his National Steel Guitar to center stage and dishes out some of his world-renowned spicy Florida blues. It's a soul-shouting picnic of rock & roll brotherhood and at the end of the show, Bill's famous gumbo is served. Throughout the afternoon Masters of Ceremony Ringold & Ellis fire up audiences with fire eating, fire juggling, and other daring deeds of flame. Plus, explore Indian chutney-making and other spicy cooking demonstrations and tastings, Mexican chile workshops, chile pepper tattoos, spicy kids' activities. Visitors to The Chile Goddess can learn all about the diverse capsicum genus while they pick up organically grown plants. Garden visitors can also find chile-inspired gifts in BBG's two Garden Gift Shops. The Zagat-rated Terrace Cafe offers a special Chile Pepper Fiesta menu to tingle the taste buds with spicy food and cold beer. BBG presents a can't-miss taste of the chile-head lifestyle—demonstrating why chiles are all the rage from Brooklyn to Bombay!
